What is the Truth of the Gospel?

Galatians 2:15-21

So far in Galatians, Paul has been rebuking false teachers who are out of step with the gospel. Now, Paul tells us why they are wrong. Listen as Pastor Eric explains the importance of grace and faith. You might be surprised by how relevant this discussion is today.

Say Hello to Our Newest Members

Our Church Family is Growing

Last Sunday, we added Eric, Jessica, Greg, and Kim to our church family. We’re so thankful that the Lord continues to grow our church family, and we’re excited to officially welcome our friends. We asked Eric to share how God brought his family to our church. Take a minute and read their story below.

Good morning Church Family! My name is Eric Fang (yes I copied Pastor Eric’s name), this is my lovely wife Jessica, and our 2 year old son, Ollie. We’d love to share with you our church story.

A year ago, we were lost…wandering in the desert…we were sheep without a church home. But good news! Thanks to God’s grace and faithfulness, He has brought us to Sovereign Grace Church in Orange!

We were at our previous church for over 10 years but due to some differences with leadership, we finally agreed to disagree and left that church peacefully last year. As we began looking for a new church, a friend gave me a list of Bible believing, like-minded churches, and yours was on it. Now that we’ve been here for almost a year, there are many reasons why we want to join you as fellow members. Here are a few.

Paul says, “Therefore welcome one another, as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God” (Rom. 15:7). From even before we came, to our 1st visit, till now, you all have been so welcoming, kind, and gracious to our family! I especially remember our 1st visit. Many people came up to us out in the garden, and Pastor Eric preached on 2 Corinthians 2:15. We definitely smelled the aroma of…Diapers!… lots of kids here… just kidding. It was probably Ollie…In all seriousness, we smelled your “aroma of Christ”! We truly thank God for the leaders, our small group, and everyone here for welcoming us with open arms and for your love, which is evident that it comes from your love for Christ!

Having a new church family has definitely been an answered prayer! Therefore, we praise God that we’re no longer homeless sheep, but sheep that are Joyful / Generous / Ordinary / and Good Neighbors. Aka SG Sheep! We hope to give back, to serve, and encourage others just as you’ve encouraged us, which is why we want to become SG members.

(Eric to Jess) Hey Jessica, speaking of membership, do you have anything to add?

We have good news because by God’s grace we’ll be adding an additional SG Member to the roster next year in May… Ollie 2.0.

Engage in Global Missions Right From Your Home

Pray for Our Partners Around the World

God graciously allows us to be involved in his sovereign activity. One way we are involved is through prayer. To that end, Sovereign Grace Missions has compiled a list of prayer requests from our brothers and sisters around the world. Please take the next few minutes and pray for them.

  1. Pray that unbelievers would come to Sovereign Grace churches and be saved during our Christmas events.

  2. Pray that our holiday Sovereign Grace Music concerts would reach unbelievers.

  3. Pray that God would give our members opportunities to share the gospel with unbelieving family members, friends, neighbors, and coworkers this holiday season.

  4. Pray for the Arche Church in Dnipro, Ukraine. Ask God to protect them.

  5. Pray for the SGC Australia Planters & Pastors Academy. Ask God to bless the recent graduates.

  6. Pray for the men who are participating in our Church Planting Cohort. Ask God to equip them to plant a Sovereign Grace churches.

  7. Pray that God would continue to provide financially for Sovereign Grace Churches.

Who's Your One for December?

OUR FINAL MONTH

It’s the final month of our 2022 evangelism campaign Who’s Your One? Each month, we’ve sought to faithfully pray for and share the gospel with one person. In this final month, we know it’d be easy to let it fall by the wayside. You’re busy. Perhaps the challenge has been hard for you and you haven’t kept up. We understand.

But no matter what’s happened the previous months, commit once again and go for it this December. Is there a family member, friend, or co-worker you can share with? Somebody you know you’ll get time with during holiday festivities? Pick them, pray for them, and make a plan.

NEXT STEPS

  1. Decide who your “one” is for December and prepare to share about them with your small group.

  2. Review the “Who’s Your One?” webpage and make use of the recommended resources at the bottom.

DON’T STOP HERE

The challenge may be officially ending after December, but our call to spread the gospel does not. It’s our great privilege as Christians to be on the front lines of Christ’s mission to bring more souls from death to life. We hope and pray you’ll find your own creative ways to keep bringing good news to those you know and love in 2023 and beyond.

May the Lord send us out as workers to bring in His harvest.
