Pray for your Small Group leaders

Did you know your Small Group leaders meet monthly to pray for you, encourage one another, and be equipped to serve us? They do! Their meetings are listed on the church calendar (they meet again this coming Friday night).

Your Small Group leaders love you. Please pray for them.

Leading is serving and serving is sacrifice. Ask God to lead, care, protect, and bless their households...this is good for them and good for us. And good for God!

ONE Movie Night 1/24/13

This Thursday, our Singles' ministry will begin a series of movies that ask and attempt to answer a number of philosophical/theological questions: For what purpose do we exist? Where did evil come from and how does it manifest? What do we know about the divine?

We'll be starting this off by watching Tree of Life, written and directed by Terrence Malick. Come ready to analyze and discuss.

Popcorn will be provided, but be sure to bring 75 cents to grab a soda from the Coke machine. Here's all the pertinent details.

  • Thursday, 1/24/2013 at 7:30pm
  • Please feel free to bring friends along
  • You are welcome to grab your dinner and show up earlier
  • Email Dustin Smetona (dustin@sovgraceoc.org) for directions to the home we meet in

We will look forward to seeing you then!

New Small Groups

When is a Small Group no longer a Small Group? How big is too big? 10, 15, 20 adults? There's no magic number but there are some warning signs.

  • Not everyone gets to talk.
  • Not everyone gets to serve.
  • No one notices if you're missing.
  • No one notices your hurting.

Every group is different, but eventually (if the group grows) it becomes a "medium group" or even a "large group." And large groups aren't Small Groups.

This is why we start new Small Groups...because bigger isn't better.

Two new groups are forming right now and if you don't yet have a group to call your own, go here and ask for more info.

Turbedsky Group - Wednesdays, 7-9pm in Old Towne Orange

Davis Group - Sundays, 5-8pm in Tustin/Irvine
