Well played church.

One of the sweetest moments last Sunday was when Pastor Eric announced that Jordan was about to lead worship for the first time ever...and the church erupted into a spontaneous round of applause and cheering.

Not for Jordan but for God.

You see, if we believe that life and talents are all gifts from God...if we believe that everyone is made of the likeness of God and that all good things are from God and the evidence of God's work in us today. Then when a young man or woman steps up and uses their abilities to serve others for Jesus, it is only fitting that we give God his due praise!

How could we just sit there silently?

The mighty God of redemption has another worship leader. It thrills our souls.

New Preacher This Sunday

When we say "new" we mean new! Our very own Dylan will be preaching his first sermon ever this Sunday at Sovereign Grace Church. He is a current member of our Preachers Club and a long time member of the church

The Peace of Christ

Colossians 3:17

Thanks for setting such a generous pace of investment in men desiring to serve in ministry. May your ministry to men like Dylan (as they minister to us) return in thanksgiving to our God.

We Need Feedback Regarding Our Deacon Nomination

Deacons are part of God's plan to advance his Word through us. They ensure our testimony as a church equals the testimony of the Scriptures...that our walk and talk match up. As Pastor Eric has said, "We need to repent of our preoccupation with growth management practices and go back to the Bible. When the church grows and her ministries get stretched, God's says elect deacons, not adopt better business practices."

The pastors have nominated Les Card as candidate for the office of Deacon.

Les continues to be a wonderful gift to our church, and whether or not he becomes our first deacon we thank God for Les. He's part of a wonderful company of friends upon whose shoulders the Lord is establishing Sovereign Grace Church.

Please submit your input before June 23, 2014.

As per our constitutional documents, you have 14 days to provide the pastors written feedback regarding this nomination. We strongly encourage every church member to participate in the phase of the ordination process. You won't be prohibited from participating later, but now is the time for you to speak affirmations and concerns.

During the ordination process, members of the church are asked and given opportunity to submit in writing their observations, affirmation, or critique of the man in question. This is not to propagate gossip and slander, but to allow opportunity to stop the process if there is information the pastors lack in evaluating the man. Additionally, affirmation will help confirm the selection of the candidate. Such feedback is an important opportunity for the congregation to assist in the ordination process.

Thanks in advance for your participation. We'll keep you updated as we proceed.
