Our Brand New Anaheim Small Group

Your small group ministry is thriving.

We are filling homes all over our city with people who love Jesus. You are changing people's lives by sharing your lives with others. Thank you for being generous. It's no small thing to commit to making your church more than a meeting.

The Servin Small Group

Plans are underway for a new group based in Anaheim. It'll be led by Roger and Alice Servin and hosted by the Madrigals. If all goes as we expect, the Enge group will send them out with 8 other adults in late January.

Those Saved by God, Sing to God
20150712_112223.jpg

Singing is a high priority in our life together.

It is true that those saved by God, sing to God. The Lord calls us to respond in song. From exuberant praise to deepest lament, we express ourselves to Him through a vehicle He created: music.

In order for this to happen in the life of the church, we need servants who will put their talents to use for God's glory and the good of the church.

If you're a musician, we are calling you to come forward.

We are grateful for the folks who serve on our worship team now, but we assume there are more people God is calling to this ministry. Whether you have been playing for many, many years or just a few months - we want to help you find a place to serve.

Fill out the form below and we will get back to you.

What Did Jesus Die For?

This week at Theology on Tap the men are debating the intent and extent of the atonement. Although the group is currently on a waiting-list only for the Winter/Spring, you can still follow along on Facebook and do the homework.

What did Jesus die for?

All the sins of all men.

All the sins of some men, or

Some of the sins of all men.

You Might Be A Deacon

Our Church Council met officially for the first time this past Wednesday, and as they met two important topics emerged. The first was that our current deacons are experiencing the promises of God...

"For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus." 1 Timothy 3:13

The second topic was about you, the members of Sovereign Grace Church. We believe God will call some of you to be deacons in the future. Why? Because God is good and deacons are a gift from Him to His church.

May we not underestimate our deaconate.

Please join us in praying for the future of our deaconate ministry. Read up about what we believe about deacons, encourage our deacons, and ask God if you are called to be a deacon.

And btw...although we ordain only men as deacons, we believe women are called to fulfill deacon-like roles in the church too. We want to equip you to do the ministry of the church. If we don't find you first, contact a deacon or pastor and let them know you want to serve.

Youth Meeting This Thursday

All Junior/Senior High students are invited.

This Thursday at the Blackman's House, 7-9pm. We will be preparing boxes for Operation Christmas Child and Samaritan's purse.

What to bring.

Each youth should bring a few items to include in the boxes. Spend no more than $5 and go here for ideas and a list of what is/isn’t allowed. If you don't have anything, no worries. Come join the fun anyways :) We will also have games, food & passing of the duck!

Email Lisa for directions and more information.

A Visit From Our Sister Church In Seoul

Our Pastors Conference week closed with a visit from the pastor and his wife of our sister church in Seoul, Korea. Songhwan and Miran met with the pastors of Sovereign Grace Church in Pasadena, many Korean American pastors and wives from churches in Orange County, and 2 of our small groups.

The more time we spent together, the more convinced we became that God is going to use Sovereign Grace Churches to bless the church in Korea. Songhwan and his church are boldly proclaiming a message of forgiveness and grace. People's lives are being transformed. Please join us in praying for them, for their countrymen, and the future of the church in Korea.
