Celebrating God’s Gift of the Local Church

February is our Church Membership Month. Each week is meant to show the joys and privileges of belonging to a local church. We’ll be highlighting different aspects of our church and hearing member testimonies. It all leads up to introducing our newest members on the final Sunday.

How You Receive Jesus Determines What You Get From Jesus

Mark 3:20-35

We gather every Sunday to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ proclaimed. God's Word is preached and the Holy Spirit transforms our hearts. We expect to encounter Jesus and be equipped to better serve him each week.

We’re grateful to be in a church that loves to serve. Thank you to all those who served us Sunday morning. Our gatherings are made possible by your help.

See What God is Doing Around the World

Recap of 2022 and How to Pray in 2023

Your prayers make a difference and we have proof. Watch this video by our friend and Director of Global Missions for Sovereign Grace Churches, Dave Taylor. It details some of the many ways that God is working around the world. Let it encourage you to keep praying this year. Here’s how you can pray:

  1. Pray for Sergei, our key leader in Belarus, as he comes to the US for immersion training into Sovereign Grace Churches. He will be attending a Pastors College course, the Global Leaders Fellowship retreat, and visit a number of Sovereign Grace Churches. Pray for his wife. Pray for Kyle Huber and Greentree Church as they continue to care and equip Sergei for further work in Belarus, Poland & Russia.

  2. Pray for Josh Kruger Jr and his family as they relocate to the US later this month for a one year Pastoral Residency in Kingsway Community Church in Richmond. They are planning to plant our first Sovereign Grace Church in Namibia in early 2024. Josh will be attending seven classes at the Pastor’s College, serve alongside Kingsway elders, and develop a prospectus for church planting in Windhoek, Namibia. Josh’s family has never lived in the US so please pray that they adjust to their new house, new school, new city and new church.

  3. Pray for Marty Machowski (Pastor in Covenant Fellowship Church, Glenn Mills, US) as he heads to Seoul, South Korea on January 11th-17th to serve Songhwan Kang and Lord’s Grace Church. He will be teaching on the Deaconate, parenting, and marriage. He will be preaching twice and spending time with the Pastors and Interns of Lord’s Grace Church to encourage and care for them.

  4. Pray for Greg Dirnberger as he leads the US National Church Planting Assessment on January 20-21 in Irvine, CA. Please pray for the assessment team (Greg and Laurie Dirnberger, John and Nancy Loftness, and Christopher and Stephanie Warren) as they consider each of the four candidates. The purpose of this National Assessment is to serve local elderships, and regional church planting committees by offering potential candidates discernment in their process of determining God’s call on them for planting Sovereign Grace churches.

  5. Please pray for the nine young people in Sovereign Grace Churches, Australia that have signed up for our Young Leaders Internship Program for 2023, starting at the end of January. Please pray that God quickly builds them together as a cohort and that they catch a vision for serving Jesus in the Local Church.

Resolve to Read the Bible More This Year

Here’s a Few Plans to Get You Started

We’re all making plans for the new year. Make sure Bible reading is one of them by choosing a Bible reading plan. Here are few options to help you find the one that best fits you:

  • Five Day Plan. Read the Bible five days a week. The other two days allow you to catch up or take the day off and focus on other spiritual disciplines.

  • Every Day Plan. Get in the Word each day of the week by focusing on a different genre each time you read.

  • Bible Reading Chart. Go through the Bible at your own pace. Check off a chapter each time you read.

Those are a few of our favorites. You can find an entire list here. And remember, the main goal is to get in the Word consistently and make Bible reading a habit. Don’t get discouraged if you miss a day. Keep at it and make it a priority to abide in God’s Word this year.
